G8 seeks speedier progress in N.Korea nuclear talks
KYOTO, Japan (Reuters) - G8 foreign ministers meeting in Japan said on Friday it was important to speed up six-party talks to resolve the North Korean nuclear crisis.
The ministers from the Group of Eight (G8) large industrialized nations called on Pyongyang to cooperate fully in the verification of its declaration on Thursday of its nuclear programs, and urged North Korea to take prompt action to resolve the issue of abducted Japanese citizens.
They also called on Iran to respond constructively to the latest package of incentives to resolve arguments over its nuclear ambitions.
