PARIS (Reuters) - Around 60 students briefly occupied part of the Greek consulate building in Paris on Tuesday after days of rioting in Greece sparked by the shooting of a teenager by police.

The demonstrators entered the courtyard and lobby area of the building in the exclusive 16th district of the French capital before midday and left quietly shortly after 1 p.m. (1200 GMT), a Reuters reporter saw.

They were carrying a banner bearing the name Alexandros Grigoropoulos, the teenager who has become the focal point for violent protests across Greece since he was killed by Athens police on Saturday.

The action came a day after demonstrators staged a similar protest at the Greek consulate in Berlin.

Alexandre Bouzis, the Greek embassy press attachem, told Reuters the students had entered the consulate building but had not gone into the main offices located on the first floor. He said the demonstration had proceeded calmly.
