(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1445 GMT on Saturday.

MOSUL - A car bomb in a market killed at least four people and wounded 40 in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad police said.

NORTHERN IRAQ - U.S. forces shot dead a civilian on a highway between the cities of Tikrit and Balad, north of Baghdad, on Friday, the U.S. military said. The statement said a U.S. soldier opened fire on a man driving a truck after he failed to heed a signal to stop.

KHALIS - A civilian died when his car collided with a U.S. Army vehicle in Khalis, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad on Monday, the U.S. military said.

BAAJ - Gunmen open fire on Iraqi police checkpoint killed one policeman in the town of Baaj, 375 km (233 miles) northwest of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A roadside bomb near an Iraqi police checkpoint killed one policeman in western Mosul on Friday, police said.
