(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 3 a.m. EDT on Friday.

* denotes new or updated items.

* NANGARHAR - A roadside bomb killed eight Afghan civilians

in the Khogiani district of eastern Nangarhar province, the Interior Ministry said.

GHAZNI - Afghan police and NATO-led forces killed about 26 insurgents in a counter-attack in the Giro district of eastern Ghazni province on Thursday, the Interior Ministry said.

KANDAHAR - A roadside bomb killed four civilians, including a woman and a child, and wounded two in the Khakriz district of southern Kandahar province on Thursday, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

* PAKTIA - Afghan and NATO-led foreign forces detained a group of suspected insurgents in southeastern Paktia province, the International Security Assistance Force said in a statement.
