Democrats in danger in Zimbabwe: opposition

HARARE (Reuters) - The lives of all pro-democracy activists are in danger in Zimbabwe because of a deadlock over elections, the Movement for Democratic Change opposition said on Thursday.

"The lives of all pro-democracy actors are not safe," MDC Secretary-General Tendai Biti told a news conference in Johannesburg. The MDC says President Robert Mugabe is planning a violent response to his biggest election setback.
