HARARE (Reuters) - Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe on Friday said the results of the country's March 29 elections were disastrous for his ruling ZANU-PF party.

"Although the presidential result did not yield an outright winner, it was indeed disastrous," he told a party conference.

Mugabe also said in an opening address to the ruling party's central committee that he will not lose power to an opposition backed by Western imperialists.
