GM sees 14.7 million U.S. industry sales in 2008

DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp

* GM sees 2008 U.S. industrywide light vehicle sales at 14.7 million units

* GM held a 22 percent share of the U.S. auto market in June

* GM ended June with 788,104 units in inventory, down about 260,000 from a year ago. Trucks represented 57 percent of the inventory

* Retail sales represented about 75 percent of GM's sales in June

* GM expects some strength in the U.S. economy in the second half of 2008. The housing market is likely to "start to reach bottom" in the fourth quarter and stabilize in 2009, GM says

* GM is extending its 72-month zero financing offer through the July 4 weekend

* GM's retail sales were down 3.7 percent in June, fleet sales were down 20 percent
