ZTE Corp:Sees net profit for 2014 H1 to increase 222.57 pct to 270.96 pct, or to be 1,000 million yuan to 1,150 million yuan.In the previous outlook, the company expected the net profit for 2014 H1 to increase 158.06 pct to 222.57 pct, or to be 800 million yuan to 1,000 million yuan.Says the net profit of 2013 H1 was 310.01 million yuan.Comments that increased operating income and lower-than-expected period expense are the main reasons for the forecast.  Full Article

ZTE Corp files antitrust complaint with European commission against Vringo

ZTE Corp:Says it filed an antitrust complaint with European Commission, requesting it to investigate licensing practices of Vringo Inc. and its subsidiaries in light of concerns that these practices are impeding fair competition in the telecommunications market.As owner of numerous standard-essential patents on telecommunications standards, Vringo is obligated to license its patents based on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms in the interest of safeguarding competition in the European telecommunications market.Despite ongoing efforts by ZTE to negotiate since 2012, the company has been unable to reach an agreement with Vringo on FRAND terms.ZTE reserves right to pursue further action across different jurisdictions to protect the interests of the company and our customers, ZTE steadfastly opposes all forms of abuses of intellectual property, and improper use of patent assets as a tactic in licensing negotiations.  Full Article
