Sofiproteol SA’s Romanian Subsidiary Expur Buys Assets and Equipment from Cargill Inc-SeeNews - The Corporate Wire

SeeNews - The Corporate Wire reported that Romanian vegetable oil producer Expur, a subsidiary of Sofiproteol SA, has signed an agreement with Cargill Inc to purchase Untdelem de la Bunica and Olpo edible oil brands and industrial equipment at the site in Podari. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. As a result, Expur will increase its seed crushing volumes and strengthen positions on the local edible oils market. The transaction meets the objectives of Sofiproteol SA's strategic plan which aims to develop sectors from upstream farming to downstream industry and to accelerate the internationalization of Sofiproteol SA, with particular focus on Black Sea and Mediterranean countries. The operation, still pending regulatory approval, is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2013. Romanian Expur is active in the processing of rapeseed and sunflower seed. Expur operates an industrial plant in Slobozia, Romania.
