Akebono Brake Industry Co., Ltd. to Fully Acquire Subsidiary; Announces Merger of Subsidiaries
Akebono Brake Industry Co., Ltd. announced that it will fully acquire its 87.5%-owned subsidiary, Akebono Corporation(North America), which is engaged in the development, manufacturing and sale of automobile parts in the United States, effective December 28, 2011. The Company also announced the merger of its eight subsidiaries, Akebono Corporation(North America), Akebono Member Corporation, Amak Brake L.L.C., AMTEC Brake, LLC, ABMA, LLC, Ambrake Corporation, Ambrake GP,Inc. and Ambrake Manufacturing, Ltd., effective January 1, 2012. After the transaction, Akebono Corporation(North America) will be the surviving company and the seven other subsidiaries will be dissolved. Akebono Corporation(North America) will also change company name to Akebono Brake Corporation.
