Abengoa SA:Has been selected by Advanced Water Technology (AWT).To jointly develop large-scale desalination plant to be powered by solar energy, in Saudi Arabia.AWT is newly formed company based in Riyadh whose mission is to bring affordable water solutions through innovation and sustainability.It is commercial arm of KACST (King Abdulaziz City Science and Technology) and is owned by Taqnia.Says plant will produce 60,000 m3 of water day to supply Al Khafji City in North Eastern Saudi Arabia, ensuring a constant water supply throughout the year.This is global pioneering project since it incorporates a photovoltaic plant that will be capable of supplying the power required by the desalination process, significantly reducing the operational costs.Says it will also have system to optimize power consumption and a pre-treatment phase to reduce high level of salinity and oils and fats that are present in the region's seawater.  Full Article

Abengoa SA:Mexican subsidiary of Abengoa SA to construct a 924 MW power plant in Mexico.Total project income amounts to $1,550 mln and includes construction and 25 years of operation and maintenance expense.During the construction phase the value of investment amounts to $700 million and will be financed with a mix of equity and non-resource debt.Norte III is a combined power plant project developed by Mexican federal commission of electricity( Comision Federal de Electricidad de Mexico) as part of national investment plan for 2014-2018.Abengoa is responsible for engineering, design and construction of the plant as well as it's operation and maintenance for 25 years once it's completed.  Full Article

Abengoa SA and EIG Global Energy Partners:Enters into a non-binding agreement with the objective of jointly investing in a New Company (Newco) for the development of the already contracted portfolio of Abengoa's projects under construction.Portfolio of projects has been defined including conventional generation and renewable energy assets and transmission lines in different geographies, including US, Mexico, Brazil and Chile for a total investment amount above US$9.5 bln, including equity and non-recourse debt.As part of this agreement, EIG will hold a majority stake in the Newco, that will consolidate these projects, with Abengoa retaining a minority stake.  Full Article
