Abengoa SA:Completes construction of Mount Signal Solar, 206 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic plant in city of Calexico, south east of California.Project covers 801 hectares and includes more than three million photovoltaic modules that rotate on a north-south axis tracking the path of the sun.Plant will generate enough solar power to supply 72,000 households in San Diego and its surrounding area, preventing the emission of 356,000 tons of CO2/year into the atmosphere.Company will not retain an interest in the constructed assets.Constructed and commissioned the plant in 16 months.  Full Article

Abengoa SA:Says it has been selected by Brazilian National Electricity Agency (Aneel) for new electricity transmission project in Brazil.Contract worth about 381 million euros.To be responsible for engineering, design, construction, maintenance and commissioning of two transmission lines, which will cover 377 km.Both lines are expected to come into operation in 2017.First concession relates to 240 km transmission line from Oriximina–Juruti and Juruti–Parintins in state of Para, and construction of four substations in Oriximina, Juruti, Parintins and Jurupari.Second concession includes 137 km Parauapebas–Integradora Sossego, Integradora Sossego–Xinguara II transmission line and three substations.  Full Article
