Ayala Corporation Signs Agreement With Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment JSC

Ayala Corporation announced that the Company and Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment JSC (CII) have entered into an agreement to jointly invest in VinaPhil Technical Infrastructure Investment JSC (VinaPhil), a corporation established under Vietnam law to invest in infrastructure projects in Vietnam. VinaPhil will be initially 49%-owned by the Company with the remainder owned by CII and other Vietnamese investors. VinaPhil will have an initial charter capital of VND 900 billion (approximately $ 43 million). Earlier this year, the Company has acquired a 10% stake in CII in conjunction with Manila Water Co., Inc.’s acquisition of a 47.35% in Kenh Dong Water Supply JSC.  Full Article

Ayala Corporation To Issue PHP 10 Billion Bond

Ayala Corporation announced that it will offer to the public until November 16, 2012, the PHP 10 billion, seven-year corporate bond due 2019. The bonds bear an interest rate of 5.45% per annum. The Company is raising funds for its capital requirements. Reuters reported that Ayala Corp has confirmed on October 12, 2012 it had bought part of the stake of Singapore's DBS Group Holdings Ltd in its banking arm for 25.6 billion pesos ($616 million), raising its interest to more than 40%. DBS's stake in the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) falls to 9.9% after the sale of a 10.4% holding to partner Ayala Corp.  Full Article

DBS Group Holdings Ltd Agrees To Sell More Than Half Of Its Stake In Bank of the Philippine Islands To Ayala Corp-Reuters

Reuters reported that DBS Group Holdings Ltd, has agreed to sell more than half of its stake in Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) to Ayala Corp for SGD757.3 million ($616.07 million) to boost its capital base. Ayala, a conglomerate, is already the biggest shareholder in BPI, the Philippines' bank by market capitalization. DBS owned about 20.3% of BPI before the sale. After the sale, DBS will be left with a 9.9% stake, although it will continue to be represented on the bank's board. The transaction will realize a gain of about S$450 million for DBS, but is not expected to have a material financial effect on 2012 net asset value and earnings.  Full Article

A Brown Company, Inc. announced that the Company together with its subsidiaries, Palm Thermal Consolidated Holdings Corp., Palm Concepcion Power Corporation and Panay Consolidated Land Holdings Corporation, have signed a Memorandum of Agreement with AC Energy Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation, to build a power generation plant in the Province of Iloilo. Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (AEV) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Ayala Corporation to form a consortium intended to participate in the bidding for the construction, rehabilitation, operation and maintenance of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Passenger Terminal located at Mactan Island, Cebu (the Project) under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Program of the Philippine Government. AEV and Ayala Corporation intend to collaborate and partner with an international airport operator to complete the consortium.
