AECOM Technology Corp Secures USD94.6 Million Program Management Contract
AECOM Technology Corp announced that it has been awarded a USD94.6-million program management contract for the final phase of the Los Angeles Community College District`s (LACCD) building program. The LACCD`s building program is a 14-year, USD6-billion program that is modernizing and renovating the district`s nine colleges and related facilities for students, faculty and staff, funded primarily through taxpayer-approved bonds with supplemental funding from the state of California. As program manager, AECOM will manage funds to achieve the goals of first-rate results and maximum value for taxpayers. The final phase will follow a more centralized structure following the LACCD`s recent reforms, including strict oversight and a transparent process for completing the building project, resulting in the remaining USSD2.7-billion in funds being spent efficiently and effectively. AECOM Technology Corp announced that an AECOM-led consortium was awarded a USD85-million contract for the new Princess Grace hospital in Monaco. AECOM's fees for the project are expected to be approximately USD18 million. AECOM will act as consortium lead and program manager for the approximately 968,750-square-foot, 400-room hospital. The consortium was selected after being one of three groups invited to participate in a design competition for the new hospital. Design work for the new hospital is expected to begin in July and last for two years, followed by a 10-year construction period reflecting the highly constrained site and the need to minimize impact on the existing hospital. AECOM Technology Corp announced that it is one of seven companies awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract worth up to a total of USD350 million by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide clean energy technical assistance. Under the five-year contract, AECOM may provide technical energy services such as developing activities and strategy designs; creating enabling environments for clean energy development and energy-sector reform; incorporating climate change into USAID mission programs; increasing human resource capacity relating to energy services; fostering private-sector participation and investment; facilitating financing approaches; assessing the environmental implications of energy services; and improving disaster preparations, responses and recovery in the energy sector.
