Acotel Group SpA : Reaches agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo over settlement of dispute related to mobile network virtual operator Noverca . Acotel Group and Noverca Italia Srl (in liquidation) commit to not appeal to the judgment the court of first instance of Turin on Nov. 17, 2016 . The agreement also provides for a reduction in the amount owed to the bank by Noverca from about 6.2 million euros ($6.70 million) at Dec. 31, 2016, to 1.1 million euros, as a result of Intesa Sanpaolo's forgiveness of the debt .The debt has been transferred to Acotel Group, which paid 550,000 euros on the signature of the agreement, and has undertaken the commitment to pay five further annual installments of 110,000 euros each.  Full Article

Acotel Group SpA:Italy's competition watchdog has launched an investigation into Enel ENEI.MI for alleged abuse of a dominant market position, potentially casting a shadow over the power utility's efforts to help the government roll out a domestic fiber-optic network. - RTRS.In a statement posted on its website on Thursday, the authority said it was investigating whether Enel, Italy's biggest power utility, was hampering fair competition in the smart metering business, which measures electricity consumption. - RTRS."The case concerns the hypothesis of an abuse of a dominant position by Enel ... hampering in various ways the operation of a competing company in this sector and threatening the competitive development of those innovative services," it added. - RTRS.Police and the authority also searched the offices of Enel's distribution unit, the parent company and other associated companies on Thursday, the watchdog said, adding it expected to conclude the investigation by the end of next year. - RTRS.The probe follows a complaint by Rome-based telecommunications group Acotel ACO.MI. - RTRS.Enel said it was fully collaborating with the authorities and had "always acted in accordance with the regulatory framework in force and had never posed any obstacle to the full and legitimate exercise of competition". - RTRS.  Full Article
