Acciona to double its electricity supplies to Metro de Madrid in 2015

Acciona SA:Acciona Energia will double its supplies of electricity to Metro de Madrid after being awarded 46 percent of total energy put out to tender by city's transport company for 2015, for sum of 19.8 million euros.Through its subsidiary Acciona Green Energy Developments, company thus continues to consolidate its business of marketing of electric power to customers.Last year this activity represented revenues of 367 million euros.Contract signed with Metro de Madrid covers supply of 308 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity to traction points and other installations of company that operates suburban transport in Spain's capital in 2015.This doubles level of power supplied under previous contract, and increases Acciona's percentage of total put out to tender by Metro from 21 percent to 46 percent.  Full Article

Acciona Energia to build wind farm for private investors in Mexico

Acciona SA:ACCIONA Energia has signed contract worth $111 million (86 million euros) with private investors Actis and Comexhidro for design, engineering and construction of 49.5 MW wind farm in Mexico.Ingenio wind farm, located in Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca, includes sale of project developed by ACCIONA Energia Mexico to its new owners, plus operation and maintenance of wind power complex for 15 years.Wind farm will be equipped with 33 AW77/1500 turbines of ACCIONA Windpower technology, each with rated power of 1.5 MW and rotor diameter of 77 meters, mounted on 80-meter-high (hub height) steel towers.Construction work on site-near Eurus, Oaxaca II, Oaxaca III and Oaxaca IV wind farms, all owned by ACCIONA-is planned to start in Oct. 2014.Completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2015.  Full Article

Acciona Agua wins contract for operation and maintenance of water facilities of Melilla

Acciona SA:Says Acciona Agua has won contract for conservation, maintenance and operation of wastewater treatment plant, rainwater and wastewater pumping stations of the city of Melilla, plus the other water treatment stations in the city.Contract will come into effect on Sep. 1 and covers two years, extendable for another two.Acciona's proposal represents revenues of 3.6 million euros, which could be increased to 7.2 million euros.  Full Article

Acciona and partners to supply drinking water to three Italian islands for 10 years

Acciona SA:Says it has been awarded contract for supply of potable water to islands of Pantelleria, Linosa and Lampedusa through operation of modular seawater desalination plants over ten years.Investment is expected to exceed 3.3 million euros, with total revenues of over 54.5 million euros for the period.To supply Pantelleria, Acciona - through temporary joint venture with Sofip and Protecno - will operate plants in Sataria and Maggiuluvedi, using sea and brackish water respectively.Together, they will reach a total maximum flow of 2.2 million m3.The same partners are involved in Lampedusa and Linosa, and seawater treated will reach maximum annual flow of almost 2.4 million m3.  Full Article

Acciona Energia to build photovoltaic plant in Chile

Acciona SA:Says it subsidiary Acciona Energia will build first phase of 7.2 MWp (6 MW nominal) Pampa Camarones Solar Park as turnkey project being developed by electrical power company E-CL.Plant is first stage of photovoltaic project by developer that will eventually total 360 MWp (300 nominal MW).It is located in the Atacama desert around 50 km south-east of Arica, and plant will be constructed under EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract.Construction work to take place over eight months.Once plant enters service Acciona Energia will undertake its operation and maintenance for two years.Photovoltaic facility will generate about 18.1 GWh of clean electricity per year, equivalent to consumption of about 7,000 northern Chilean households.  Full Article

KKR & Co LP:Announced partnership to consolidate and develop largest operating international renewable energy portfolios in world.Under agreement, KKR will invest in ACCIONA Energía International (AEI), international renewable energy generation business of ACCIONA Energía, the Spanish multinational's energy division.KKR is making investment from its global infrastructure fund.KKR is acquiring one-third stake in AEI at price of 417 mln Euro and will help to fund future growth of renewables portfolio.Agreement is expected to be closed before end of year.Intention of both partners is to promote an international IPO through YieldCo vehicle that will hold all or part of assets of AEI.  Full Article

Acciona Windpower signs new supply contract in Brazil for 153 MW

Acciona Windpower signs contract to supply 90 MW in Brazil

Acciona SA:Acciona Windpower (AWP), subsidiary of Acciona group, has signed supply contract with Brazilian wind power developer Rio Energy for total of 90 MW.Contract covers supply and assembly of thirty 3 MW turbines for Itarema wind power complex in state of Ceara.21 of turbines are AW 116/3000 model (116-meter rotor diameter) and nine of AW 125/3000 version (125-meter diameter).Wind turbines to be mounted on 100 and 120-meter high concrete towers and turbines to be supplied in 2015.AWP has signed letter of intent with Rio Energy for purchase of 39 additional turbines (117 MW) for use in other wind farms in Itarema project, awarded in recent tender (Leilao A-3).This agreement should be formalized in next few months.  Full Article

International consortium chosen for $7 billion Australian road contract

- A consortium comprising Spanish construction firm Acciona, Australian infrastructure specialist Capella Capital and partner Lend Lease and French construction group Bouygues, has been chosen as preferred bidder for the first stage of a road tunnel and toll motorway project in Melbourne, the Australian government announced on Tuesday.
