Acciona SA And Consortium Win Third Renewable Contract in South Africa-DJ

Dow Jones reported that Acciona SA has won a new renewable contract in South Africa for the development of a 50 megawatt solar thermal plant, valued at EUR 300 million. It is the third project that Acciona SA has been awarded in the African country. The commissioning of the Bokpoort installation, near the city of Upington, in the Northern Cape region and close to the Kalahari desert, was awarded to Saudi Acwa Power, which in turn chose a consortium, led by Acciona and comprised of Sener, TSK and Crowie, for the engineering, procurement and construction of the plant. The construction works will start in approximately three months and they are scheduled to end in two years and a half.
