Alstom SA:Announces that it has been awarded contracts worth around 335 million euros ($450 million) to supply a power island (KA24) for Iberdrola's Monterrey III combined-cycle power plant in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon.Says the contracts also include a Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) for new unit five and for the existing four units.The commissioning is scheduled in 2016.  Full Article

Britain files criminal charges against Alstom UK unit-Reuters

Alstom SA:Britain's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has charged British subsidiary of Alstom with three offences of corruption and three offences of conspiracy to corrupt after five-year investigation-Reuters.Charges against Alstom Network UK relate to large transport projects in India, Poland and Tunisia carried out between June 2000 and Nov. 2006.SFO said it had begun its investigation after information provided by Office of Attorney General in Switzerland that concerned the Alstom Group, in particular Alstom Network UK.  Full Article

Alstom SA:Wins together with NASL contract worth about 13 million euros (1,074 mln Indian rupees) from NTPC for renovation and modernization of electrostatic precipitators (ESP) at four units of the 4 x 500 MW Talcher Super Thermal Power Plant in Odisha.Upgrade is to reduce particulate emissions from plant.Project scheduled to be commissioned in 2018.Scope of project includes engineering, supply, erection, commissioning and testing of new parallel passes installed for four ESPs, Dry Ash Handling system for new passes and associated civil, mechanical and electrical works.  Full Article

Alstom SA:Says Megalim Solar Power Ltd (Megalim) - a special purpose company formed by Alstom (25.05 pct), BrightSource (25.05 pct), and NOY Infrastructure & Energy Investment Fund (49.9 pct) - obtained financing from European Investment Bank and Bank Hapoalim for Ashalim Thermal Solar Power Station in Israel.This follows signature of power purchase agreement between Megalim and Israel in Nov. 2013.Alstom’s share in contract is worth about 450 million euros.  Full Article

Alstom joint venture ABC signs framework agreement for U.K. electrification programme

Alstom SA:ABC Electrification Ltd, incorporated equal share joint venture comprising Alstom, Babcock and Costain, appointed by Network Rail (U.K.) as one of four suppliers to deliver 2.4 bln euros electrification programme.Programme to electrify more than 3,000 kilometers of Britain's railways over seven subsequent years.Framework agreement valued at about 1.1 bln euros over initial seven year term for ABC, with option to extend for further three years.ABC awarded two out of six areas within the programme.Alstom offer includes power supply (substations, autotransformers and switchgear), distribution installation, 25kV Overhead Line Equipment, SCADA and signaling design, installation management, testing and commissioning.  Full Article
