Apollo Group Inc announced that for fiscal 2013, based on the business trends observed during the second quarter 2013, as well as management's current expectations of future trends. The Company expects net revenue of $3.65-$3.75 billion; and operating income of $500.0-$550.0 million in fiscal 2013, excluding the impact of special items and restructuring and other charges. Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, LLC is investigating Apollo Group, Inc. and Board of Directors in connection with the compensation awarded to Executive Chairman of the Board and member of the Board of Directors Dr. John G. Sperling. The investigation relates to whether the Board of Directors of Apollo Group, Inc. breached their fiduciary duty in connection with Dr. Sperling's compensation. On January 17, 2013 the Company announced that On January 14, 2013, the Board of Directors of Apollo Group, Inc. approved a post-retirement benefit package for Dr. John G. Sperling in connection with his retirement as Executive Chairman of the Board and member of the Board of Directors on December 31, 2012. Dr. Sperling has been conferred the title of Chairman Emeritus of the Company, effective December 31, 2012. On December 13, 2012, Peter Sperling, formerly Apollo’s Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors (Board), was elected Chairman of the Board, and Terri C.
