HAL signs contract with BAE Systems plc-Business Standard

BAE Systems plc:Secured a five-year contract worth about 1.77 bln Indian Rupees (18.5 million Pounds) to provide the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) with support for Hawk Mk 132-Business Standard.According to a release from HAL, it includes a package comprising of ground support equipment, spares, support and training for the Hawk Mk132 advanced jet trainer.This will support HAL’s plans to establish a dedicated repair and overhaul facility for the aircraft in 2016.  Full Article

BAE Systems plc:Says U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems a nine-year contract to support radio and communications systems design and integration for 13 surface combatant ships.Initial award is valued at $28.4 million with total value of nine-year contract estimated at $187.4 million.BAE Systems' work will be completed as part of Navy's new construction program, which is designed to field advanced capability to new surface combatant ships for U.S. Naval fleet.Under DDG VI Radio Communications Systems (RCS) contract, BAE Systems' experts will provide systems engineering, production, and integration for 12 DDG 51 Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers and one DDG 1000 Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyer.Company has held RCS contract since 1985.Work is being completed as part of Navy's new construction program, which is designed to field advanced capability new surface combatant ships for U.S. Naval fleet.  Full Article
