BP Plc Announces Shutting Of All Oil, Gas Production In Gulf On Storm-Reuters

Reuters reported that BP Plc said on October 04, 2013 it was shutting in oil and gas production at all Company-operated facilities in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico as Tropical Storm Karen approached. It was also evacuating non-essential workers. BP said the Atlantis platform has capacity of 200,000 barrels of oil and 180 million cubic feet of gas per day, while Thunder Horse is designed to process up to 250,000 barrels of oil and 200 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
