Bharti Airtel Ltd:Has tied up with African telecom operators Tigo and Zantel for providing customers in Tanzania mobile money transfer service across networks-Business Standard.The service is expected to begin this month, Bharti Airtel said in a statement.With this agreement, customers of the three firms will be able to send money by mobile to each other by either using Airtel Money, Tigo Pesa or EzyPesa.  Full Article

Nigeria fines Bharti Airtel Ltd and MTN Group Ltd-NDTVprofit

Bharti Airtel Ltd:Nigeria's telecoms regulator has fined mobile operators MTN, Airtel and Globacom a combined 647.5 million naira and banned them from selling SIM cards in March due to poor service - NDTVprofit.South Africa's MTN and Airtel, which is owned by Bharti AirtelLtd were each fined 185 million naira, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said.The NCC will charge each company 2.5 million naira for every day the fine is not paid after March 7.The penalties were imposed because the operators had failed to meet key performance indicators in January.  Full Article
