Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd Declares Final And Special Dividend
Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd announced that the Board of Director declared a 4.9% increase in the final ordinary dividend to 32.0 cents per share. A special dividend of 3.5 cents per share has been declared to compensate for the reduction in franking and is unfranked. Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd Closes On $60 Million Pacific Islands Deal-Just-Drinks
Just-Drinks reported that Coca-Cola Amatil has completed its takeover of a former Foster's Group Pacific Islands brewery and distillery for AUD58 million ($60m). The deal gives CCA an 89.6% shareholding in Foster’s Group Pacific Limited (FGPL) and control of the Fijian and Samoan facilities, CCA announced (September 7, 2012). CCA said it does not intend to buy the remaining stake in FGPL, with any future bids for the minority share subject to approval by Fiji's central bank. Announcement follows SABMiller's takeover of Foster's last year, which gave CCA, which operated which operated a beer JV partne with SABMiller, the right to acquire Foster's Australian spirits and non-alcoholic beverages operations and the Fijian and Samoan plants. In March, CCA turned down the chance to buy Foster's Australian spirits business. Full Article

Coca-Cola Amatil Limited Amends SABMiller plc JV, Paves Way For Foster's Group Limited Bid-DJ
Dow Jones reported that Coca-Cola Amatil Limited and SABMiller plc are amending the terms of their joint venture (JV) amid a bid for the South African listed brewer to bid for Foster's Group Limited. Coca-Cola Amatil said in a statement its arrangement surrounding its existing joint venture, Pacific Beverages, limit SAB Miller's ability to buy shares in Foster's in its own right. Under the changes to the JV, if SAB Miller makes an offer for Foster's within five years and acquires at least 50.01% of the company, SAB Miller is entitled to acquire Coca-Cola Amatil's interest in Pacific Beverages and Coca-Cola Amatil will have the right to take over parts of Foster's business.
