Chelyabinskiy tsinkovyi zavod OAO Plans To Increase Zinc Production Capacity 25% By 2017-Interfax

Interfax reported that Chelyabinskiy tsinkovyi zavod OAO (Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant or CZP) plans to be producing 200,000 tons of commercial zinc a year by 2017 with an increase in production capacity of 25%, CZP General Director Mr. Rinat Shakirzyanov said in an interview given to Interfax. The plant produced 160,000 tons of zinc and alloys with full load on its production facilities last year. Increasing production capacity, Mr. Shakirzyanov said, will be achieved with the completion of the reconstruction of CZP's leaching shop, the putting into use of a system for circulating water supply to its sulphuric acid shop, the building of six rotary kilns and a new installation for rotary zinc oxide leaching, and the transition of a second rotary kiln to the calcination of oxide. Mr. Shakirzyanov said capital expenditures on the plant's development will run to RUB 967 million next year.  Full Article
