Capstead Mortgage Corp announced that its plans to make a public offering of shares of its Series E Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock (the Series E Preferred Stock). The Company intends to list the Series E Preferred Stock on the NYSE under the symbol CMOPRE. The Company intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase additional shares of Series E Preferred Stock to cover over-allotments, if any. Capstead intends to use the net proceeds from this offering, together with cash on hand as necessary and deemed prudent, to redeem all or a portion of the Company`s outstanding Series A Preferred Stock and Series B Preferred Stock.
