Capstone Turbine Corp Receives Order From DesignLine for Denver RTD Electric Bus Fleet

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it received an order for thirty-four liquid fuel C30s for use in DesignLine's Eco Saver IV range extended electric buses. The buses are expected to be delivered to Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) later this year. The new Denver RTD buses will operate on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. The new buses will replace 36 TransTeq mall buses that were bought in 1999 and are now at the end of their useful life, according to RTD officials. Two Capstone-equipped DesignLine buses have been in service for over a year on the mall, and they have better maintenance records than the TransTeq vehicles, according to RTD officials. The DesignLine range extended electric buses are 45 feet long and have three wide passenger doors to speed loading and unloading. They are low-floor buses, meaning that there are no steps from the entrances into the passenger compartment, which improves access for people with handicaps.  Full Article

Capstone Turbine Corp Receives Orders Totaling 5mw From Distributor In Mexico For Key CHP And CCHP Projects

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it received orders totaling five megawatts from one of its Mexican distributors. DTC Soluciones Inmobiliarias SA de CV received the orders from industrial customers in Mexico. Each of the systems sold will showcase the efficiency of the Capstone microturbine technology by utilizing the waste exhaust in a combined heat and power (CHP) plant. One of the orders, a 2.6MW project for a combined cooling heating and power (CCHP) plant, will be installed at the manufacturing facility of a Company which is doing business in plastic and aluminum closure systems located in northern Mexico. The exhaust from the microturbines will be used to produce both hot and chilled water for the CCHP system. 1MW project will be installed at a Mexican pharmaceutical manufacturer located in Guadalajara. Since the microturbine is dual mode, it will provide the Guadalajara plant with power security even when the local power grid goes down. An existing Capstone customer in central Mexico that specializes in manufacturing packaging material will add a 200 kW microturbine to its existing 600 kW microturbine CHP plant. The original plant was commissioned in October of 2012. Lastly, a ceramic tile and flooring manufacturer will install three 65 kW microturbines running on propane while utilizing the exhaust directly into the facility's drying ovens.  Full Article

Capstone Turbine Corp Receives Follow-On Order For 30 C65s From U.S. Oil And Gas Exploration And Production Company

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it continues to expand presence in the Eagle Ford Shale Play with another follow-on order for 30 C65 microturbines from a U.S.-based oil and gas exploration and production company. The oil and gas exploration and production company's operations are located primarily in the United States with natural-gas exploration and production onshore in the lower 48 states, onshore in Alaska, and offshore in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This latest order brings their total C65 fleet to approximately 150 microturbines. Capstone distributor Horizon Power Systems secured this follow-on order to support the exploration and production company's growing power needs in the Eagle Ford shale play.  Full Article

Capstone Turbine Corp Receives 5MW Follow-On Order for Global Upstream Oil & Gas Producer

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it received a 5 MW follow-on order for a global upstream oil and gas producer. The five C1000 power packages will be installed in the Eagle Ford Shale play in Texas. This order increases this particular oil and gas producer's total Capstone fleet to 10 MW in the Eagle Ford play. Capstone distributor Horizon Power Systems secured both the initial order and this latest follow-on order for five megawatts. The microturbines will provide power for liquid processing plants and will be located at multiple central gathering plants. The microturbines, fueled by pipeline quality gas, will produce electricity to provide all power to the onsite equipment, including heaters, pump motors, compressors and distribution panels.  Full Article

Capstone Turbine Corp Receives Orders for $2.9 Million From German Distributor E-Quad Power Systems

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it received new orders in January from its German distributor E-Quad Power Systems GmbH. The orders include two C1000 packages, one C200, 14 C65s and four C30s, totaling approximately $2.9 million in product expected to ship in the next six months.  Full Article

Capstone Turbine Corp Receives Follow-On Order From Australian Coal Seam Gas Company

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it received another follow-on order from a Australian coal seam gas company. The initial order in July 2008 was for the supply of 110 C30 microturbines, which was later increased to 154 C30's in 2009. The first follow-on order was for 44 C30 microturbines in October 2012. The majority of these units were shipped in November and December 2012. The latest order is for 36 units increasing the total number of units sold to date to 234 C30 microturbines. These orders are part of a periodical supply contract for the life of the project, at least five years, received from Capstone's Australian distributor, Aquatec-Maxcon Pty Ltd.  Full Article

Capstone Turbine Corp Secures 7.2MW Order to Power Mexican Government Facility

Capstone Turbine Corp announced that it recently received an order for 39 diesel-fueled microturbines totaling 7.2 megawatts that will provide power to a Mexican government facility. The order includes 35 Capstone C200's and 4 C65 liquid fueled systems, which are expected to be installed in early 2013.
