Accenture PLC and General Electric Co Form Global Strategic Alliance to Develop Advanced Applications that Leverage Industrial Strength Big Data to Drive Efficiency and Productivity
Accenture PLC and General Electric Co have formed a strategic global alliance to develop technology and analytics applications that help companies across a range of industries take advantage of the massive amounts of industrial strength big data that is generated through their business operations. The alliance expands on Accenture and GE`s relationship announced in 2012 with the establishment of Taleris - a joint venture to deliver a co-developed, web-based prognostics service for aircraft parts and systems which helps manage preventive maintenance. The two companies will jointly develop and market new technology services and pre-packaged solutions that can substantially impact efficiency and productivity. This is envisioned to include cloud-based, intelligent analytics solutions that can proactively monitor the performance of machines, infrastructure, or business processes to maximize productivity and help enable better and faster decision making. This capability can help reduce system or operational down times, reduce maintenance costs, and increase supply chain efficiencies. Taleris is a joint venture established by GE and Accenture to provide airlines and cargo carriers around the world with intelligent operations services, focused on improving efficiency by leveraging aircraft performance data, prognostics, recovery and planning optimization solutions that include assets and capabilities from both Accenture and GE. Network Rail Selects Accenture PLC To Identify And Implement New Technologies To Support Change Programs
Accenture PLC announced that it has been awarded a framework agreement to help identify and implement new technology solutions for Network Rail Infrastructure Limited (Network Rail). Financial terms were not disclosed. The four-year framework agreement signed with Accenture includes identifying, designing, building and integrating IT solutions to support Network Rail's planned change programs. United Arrows Ltd Begins Development Of New Merchandise Management System In Collaboration With Accenture Plc
United Arrows Ltd announced that it has begun the development of a new merchandise management system in collaboration with Accenture. The new system will be an integral part of United Arrows`s UA 2.0 program, a company-wide initiative to transform the information technology (IT) systems of the apparel retailer and manufacturer. The new system is scheduled to begin a phased roll-out, starting in 2014. The program includes developing a common platform to support multiple businesses, enabling the flexibility and agility to support business changes, and optimize its IT cost structure. Elm, a provider of secure e-business, information technology, project support and government outsourcing services in Saudi Arabia, has selected Accenture PLC to provide management consulting services to Elm Learning, Training & Development Solutions (Elm LTDs), a newly established business unit. Elm LTDs will provide learning, training and development solutions to Elm clients and strategic partners. Accenture will help define the operating model, governance structures and a partner-engagement framework for LTDs and identify and map all skills, training needs and capability requirements for the new organization. SSE Selects Accenture PLC For Transformation Projects
Accenture PLC announced that SSE has selected the Company to help it with two projects to improve its customer offer and field force effectiveness. Under this program, Accenture was awarded multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts to work with the energy company to implement an Oracle-based customer campaign management solution for its Domestic Customer project (DC), and an Oracle-based field force productivity solution for its Metering Transformation Project (MTP). On the DC project, using Accenture Energy Consumer Services, Accenture will be implementing Oracle’s Siebel, OBIEE and Fusion applications, which are intended to help SSE’s sales and marketing team through targeted campaigns, more effective customer segmentation, and more accurate measurement. Accenture PLC Announces Acquisition Of Acquity Group Ltd
Accenture PLC and Acquity Group Ltd have entered into a definitive agreement under which Accenture will acquire Acquity Group,a leading digital marketing and eCommerce company. The acquisition will further strengthen and expand the broad range of digital marketing services that Accenture provides to clients. Accenture has agreed to pay $13.00 per outstanding American Depositary Share, each of which represents two ordinary shares ($6.50 per ordinary share), or a total of approximately $316 million, in cash for Acquity Group. The acquisition is subject to Acquity Group shareholder approval as well as other customary closing conditions. Acquity Group provides strategy, digital marketing, and technical services to hundreds of companies to enhance their brand experiences and eCommerce performance. The acquisition will broaden Accenture`s own services in these areas, which the company provides through Accenture Interactive, its group that offers chief marketing officers (CMOs) and brand leaders a comprehensive suite of marketing, technology and analytics solutions to help them improve their marketing performance. Accenture PLC announced that it has been selected by Tullow Oil to design and implement a new SAP solution to replace the oil exploration and production Company`s accounting and supply chain systems and to manage the integration of the technology and business processes across these two functions through development of a new target operation model. Under the terms of the contract, Accenture will work with Tullow Oil to implement the financial accounting and controlling module of the SAP ERP Financials solution, materials management with the SAP ERP application and the SAP for Oil & Gas set of solutions, using Accenture Enterprise Services for energy companies. Accenture PLC announced that it has been awarded a 12-month contract for technology and management consulting services to reengineer and implement the way beneficiary programs are delivered in Punjab under the Aadhaar biometric identification program.
