The U.S. Coast Guard announced that it has awarded Computer Sciences Corp (CSC) and 11 other companies a portion of its $11 billion contract to provide support services for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will compete for task orders to provide acquisition program management support for design, development, utilization and other activities for assets, processes and systems that are being acquired by the DHS agencies using these contracts. This includes such support services as ship and ship system design and engineering; enterprise architecture; information systems; modeling and simulation; enterprise resource management; quality assurance; research and development; and systems engineering. Computer Sciences Corp announced that the U.S. Navy has awarded the Company and six other companies an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide acquisition and support services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic. Awarded in the third quarter of CSC`s fiscal year 2013, the contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options, for an estimated total value of $900 million for all companies if all options are exercised. Computer Sciences Corp Agrees To Sell Australian IT Staffing Unit To Adcorp
Computer Sciences Corp announced that it has reached a definitive agreement with Adcorp, South Africa`s employment services company, for the sale of Paxus, its Australian IT staffing unit. The total value of this all-cash transaction is expected to be $73.5 million. After the closing, CSC will continue a business relationship with Paxus to meet its IT staffing needs in Australia. Computer Sciences Corp Agrees To $1 Billion Sale Of Credit Services Business To Equifax
Computer Sciences Corp announced that it has reached a definitive agreement with Equifax for the sale of its credit services unit for $1 billion in cash. The after-tax proceeds from the sale of the business will be approximately $750 - $800 million based on preliminary plans. CSC intends to use $300 - $400 million to repurchase shares, contribute $300 - $400 million to its pension plans and apply the remainder to general corporate purposes. CSC`s credit services unit, which owns credit files in 15 Midwestern and Central U.S. states representing 20% of the U.S. population, is the independent U.S. consumer credit reporting agency and has been an Equifax affiliate for more than 20 years. Computer Sciences Corp Secures $34 Million Contract Modification to Upgrade Training Simulation Technology
The United States Army has awarded Computer Sciences Corp a firm fixed price (FFP) contract modification to upgrade a simulator-based flight and related aviation training device for the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Ft. Rucker, Ala. Awarded in the second quarter of CSC`s 2013 fiscal year, the contract modification has a six-month base period and ten one-year options, for a total value of $34 million. The contract modifications were awarded under the Flight School XXI indefinite-delivery requirements contract, which CSC won in 2003. Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will upgrade the Reconfigurable Collective Training Devices (RCTD) to more closely simulate the Block 2 model of the OH-58D aircraft and enhance the interoperability between new and existing technologies.
