Thursday, 24 May 2012 09:15am EDT

Computer Sciences Corp announced that it is one of six prime contractors awarded a Traffic Management Infrastructure Systems program contract by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. This indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, which was awarded during CSC’s fiscal 2012 third quarter, has a five-year performance period and a Not-to-Exceed value of $450 million for all six prime contracts. Under the terms of the contract, CSC will compete for task orders to develop research and test the Federal Aviation Administration’s NextGen applications and concepts for programs such as the Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions and Noise and the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative. These programs are aimed at reducing fuel consumption, emissions and noise for the aviation industry in an effort to reduce impact on the environment and explore alternative fuel sources.
