Orange SA:Orange and Deutsche Telekom have entered into exclusive negotiation with BT Group plc (BT) regarding a potential divestment of 100 pct of their shares in EE, their joint venture in the United Kingdom.Purchase price of 12.5 bln pounds on a debt/cash free basis would be split equally between Orange and Deutsche Telekom.Consideration would be a mix of cash and new BT shares.Deutsche Telekom would hold a 12 pct stake in BT.Orange would hold a 4 pct stake in BT and receive a higher proportion of cash to preserve an equal split of the net proceeds from the sale of EE.  Full Article

Iliad SA:Announces that it puts an end to its project of acquiring T-Mobile US.Says Deutsche Telekom and selected board members of T-Mobile US refused to entertain its new offer.At the end of July 2014, Iliad confirmed it had submitted to the T-Mobile US board of directors an indicative offer to purchase a 56.6 pct stake in the company.This offer was rejected.Following this rejection, Iliad put in place a consortium with two private equity funds and Tier-1 international banks allowing it to enhance the cash amount and increase the share of T-Mobile US` capital to be acquired from 56.6 pct to 67 pct.This new offer was about $36 per share.  Full Article

EU to propose minimum spectrum license duration of 25 years

BRUSSELS The European Commission is to propose that telecom spectrum licenses are granted for a minimum of 25 years to increase investment certainty for operators, under a reform of the bloc's telecoms rules, according to an EU document seen by Reuters.
