Reuters reported that EADS NV and Finmeccanica SpA Joint Venture ATR received an order for 10 ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft from HGI Capital Group, which is ordering the planes for Brazilian airline Passaredo Linhas Aereas. Reuters reported that EADS NV's Airbus won an order for 25 A350-900 aircraft from Franco-Dutch carrier Air France-KLM worth USD 7.5 billion at list prices. EasyJet PLC To Buy 135 A320 Aircraft From EADS NV's Airbus S.A.S.-DJ
Dow Jones reported that EasyJet PLC said it has entered into arrangements with EADS NV's Airbus S.A.S. to buy 35 Current Generation A320 Aircraft for delivery between 2015 and 2017 under its existing agreement, and 100 New Generation A320neo Aircraft for delivery from 2017 until 2022, under a new agreement. Under the new agreement, Airbus has also granted the Company the right, but not the obligation, to acquire up to 100 further New Generation A320neo Family Aircraft. New framework arrangements are expected to be funded through a combination of easyJet's internal resources, cashflow, sale and leaseback transactions and debt; new arrangements not expected to impact the Company's ability to pay its dividend in line with its increased payout of three times cover. EADS NV announced that ATR (a joint venture between EADS NV and Finmeccanica SpA) and the Danish leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) signed an agreement for the sale of 90 ATR -600s, including 35 firm orders (30 ATR 72-600s and 5 ATR 42-600s). EADS NV and Siemens Enter Long-Term Research Partnership; Sign Memorandum of Understanding With Diamond Aircraft On Electric Propulsion System
EADS NV announced that it is entering into a long-term research partnership with Siemens AG to introduce new electric propulsion systems that could help airlines lower their fuel bills and drive environmental performance. Together with their partner, Austria-based Diamond Aircraft, the companies are showcasing a second generation serial hybrid electric airplane at Le Bourget. EADS NV Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Tom Enders, Siemens CEO Mr. Peter Loscher and Diamond Aircraft owner Mr. Christian Dries signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Le Bourget to set the course for their future cooperation on electric aircraft development. The research partnership aims to ultimately introduce hybrid drive systems for both helicopters and large airplanes, while the airworthiness certification of full-electric and hybrid aircraft in the General Aviation category is to be achieved within the next three-to-five years. EADS NV announced that its subsidiary Astrium has entered into an agreement with ECAPS, a company of the Swedish Space Corporation Group (SSC), to jointly develop a “green” propulsion system concept, which is based on ADN technology. This concept focuses on the target of directing the future of space propulsion technology to sustainability, eco-friendliness and reduced toxicity on ground, and easy and safe operation capabilities in space. Reuters reported that International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC) announced an order for 50 additional EADS NV's Airbus' A320neo aircraft worth USD 5 billion at list prices, taking its total orders for this model to 150. ILFC will take delivery of the 150 A320neo planes between 2015 and 2020. The Company's Airbus said that ILFC would choose engines for the aircraft at a later date. Reuters also reported that German transport financier Doric Asset Finance said that it had signed a memorandum of understanding to buy 20 EADS NV's Airbus' A380 superjumbos in a deal worth USD 8 billion at list prices. The deal would be finalized within a few months, with deliveries to start in 2016. Reuters reported as well that Lufthansa will order 30 EADS NV's Airbus' A320s, 35 A320neo and 35 A321neo for USD 10.4 Billion at list prices. Deliveries are expected between 2015 and 2025. EADS NV's Airbus and ON Semiconductor Corp announced that they have collaboratively developed and released to production an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) for the A350 XWB Flight Control Computer. Code named JEKYLL, this custom silicon solution was designed using ON Semiconductor Corp's internal 110 nanometer process technology and manufactured at its Gresham, Oregon, facility. Designed in compliance with the D0-254 aerospace requirements and satisfying EADS NV's Airbus' demanding reliability and product longevity needs, the ASIC provides optimized performance for the Flight Control Primary Computer on the A350 XWB.
