Monday, 21 Jan 2013 09:55am EST

Reuters reported that Electricite de France SA is to issue Reset Perpetual Subordinated Notes in euros, British pounds and United States dollars ('the Hybrid'). The total value of the issue could be as high as EUR 5 billion. The first indications given by the issue's lead managers are that a first tranche in euros would bear a coupon of 4.5%-4.75%, come to maturity in seven years and be non-callable, while a tranche in euros coming to maturity in 12 years would bear a coupon 1.25 points higher. A third tranche coming to maturity in 13 years, denominated in British pounds would bear a coupon of 6%-6.5%. An indicative price for a fourth tranche, in United States dollars, should be given at a later date. Credit Agricole, Banca IMI, Natixis and Societe Generale are acting as bookrunners for the tranches in euros; Barclays, Lloyds and RBS are supervising the tranche in British pounds, while Bank of AmericaMerrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Nomura take charge of the tranche in United States dollars.
