Embraer SA's Jet Chosen by USAF in Partnership with Sierra Nevada Corporation
Embraer SA announced that Embraer Defesa e Seguranca's A-29 Super Tucano jet has been chosen by the US Air Force (USAF) for the LAS program (Light Air Support). The aircraft will be supplied in partnership with Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) and will be used for the training missions, aerial reconnaissance and tactical air support. Reuters reported that Embraer SA said that Irish leasing company Aldus Aviation Limited had ordered 20 regional E-Jets, revealing the buyer that helped boost its backlog for the first time in a year. Embraer SA announced that Fuji Dream Airlines, of Japan, has signed a contract for two EMBRAER 175 jets, in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the airlines’ parent company, Suzuyo Corp in Shimizu, Japan. The total value of the deal is USD 81.6 million, at list price. Both aircraft will be configured in a single-class layout with 84 seats. Embraer SA announced that on December 6, 2012, it approved the payment of own capital interest for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012 totaling BRL 36,450,344.95 and corresponding to BRL 0.05 per share which will be imputed to the obligatory dividend for the fiscal year 2012.
