Enersis SA Reaches 99.04% Subscription in Capital Increase-DJ
Dow Jones reported that Enersis SA reached 99.04% shareholder subscription for its USD 6 billion capital increase. Enersis sold 16.28 billion shares out of 16.44 billion during shareholders' preemptive right to buy additional stock in the Company, according to a regulatory filing. The Company is set sell the remaining 157 million shares in an auction on the Santiago Stock Exchange on Thursday. Endesa SA, which holds nearly a 61% stake in Enersis SA, contributed about USD 3.64 billion in noncash assets to the capital increase, including stakes in several Latin American utilities, while minority shareholders contributed cash. After the transaction, Enersis SA will become Endesa's and its parent company Enel SpA's only investment vehicle in Latin America--with the exception of Enel Green Power SpA. Full Article

Enersis SA announced that its subsidiary Endesa Chile SA, in relation to the contract for the construction of Bocamina II thermoelectric plant, has been informed by the Technical Secretary of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris that members of SES-TECNIMONT consortium, separately, have filed arbitration claim against Endesa Chile SA.
