Exelon Corp's Constellation announced that it has been selected for an estimated $46.8 million electricity supply contract by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) following a competitive bidding process. Under the terms of the two-year agreement, Constellation will supply up to 780,600 megawatt-hours of electricity to six, D.C. area Navy facilities, beginning in December 2012. The DLA contract will supply electricity to Navy facilities including Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, Naval Maritime Intelligence Center, Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, the Navy Medical Center Bethesda, the U.S. Naval Observatory Washington and Washington Navy Yard. Exelon Corp Completes Sale Of Maryland Coal Plants To Raven Power Holdings LLC
Exelon Corp announced that it has completed the sale of its three Maryland coal-fired power plants to Raven Power Holdings LLC (Raven Power), a new portfolio company of Riverstone Holdings LLC. The sale fulfills Exelon`s commitment to divest the plants as part of its merger with Constellation. Under the agreement announced August 9, 2012, Raven Power will maintain jobs with comparable pay and benefits for employees at the plants. The three plants, known collectively as Maryland Clean Coal, include: Brandon Shores, Pasadena, Md.: 1,273 MW of installed capacity, two units (coal) C.P. Crane, Middle River, Md.: 399 MW installed capacity, three units (coal and oil) H.A. Wagner, Pasadena, Md.: 976 MW installed capacity, five units (coal, natural gas and oil) The sale was required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, U.S. Department of Justice and the Maryland Public Service Commission as part of Exelon`s merger agreement. Exelon Corp Sells Stake In Five California Power Plants-Reuters
Reuters reported that Exelon Corp sold stakes in five California power plants, acquired as part of its merger with Constellation Energy Group, to Japan's IHI Corp. The two coal-powered and three biomass-based plants - with a total generation capacity of 70 megawatts (MW) - came into Exelon's fold following the completion of the Constellation deal in March. May 1 - Exelon Corp's 1,118-megawatt Unit 1 at the La Salle nuclear power plant in Illinois ramped up to 70 percent power early Wednesday from 22 percent power Tuesday, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in a report.
