Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicao (CBD) together with Via Varejo SA announced that on April 17, 2013 they signed a performance commitment document with the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) for the approval of the joint venture agreement signed between CBD and Casa Bahia Comercial Ltda (CB) on December 4, 2009 and amended on July 1, 2010. According to the document, CBD, CB and Via Varejo will be obliged to sell 74 stores, located in 54 municipalities in six states and Federal District, which together accounted approximately 3% of gross consolidated sales in 2012 of Via Varejo. CBD, CB and Via Varejo reiterate their commitment to continue cooperating with the CADE until the complete fulfillment of all obligations undertaken on April 17, 2013. Full Article
