Home Depot Inc : On conf call - pro-sales outpaced diy business in US in Q2 . On conf call - 'buy online, pickup in store' rollout expected to be completed by end of fiscal year . CEO- "instituting a high degree of change across many business areas...in Q2 identified several opportunities for improvement particularly around inventory management and freight handling " . Q2 drivers behind the increase in big-ticket purchases were HVAC, appliances and roofing . Q2 transactions for tickets over $900 representing about 20 percent of U.S. Sales were up 8.1 percent . CFO- " recent GDP growth estimates suggest a slowdown in us economy from what we expected but we are encouraged by strength of our core business as housing market continues to recover" . CFO- lifting full-year eps growth guidance principally because of better expense control and therefore more operating leverage than anticipated at end of Q1 . CFO- for remainder of fiscal year intend to repurchase about $2.5 billion of stock, bringing total anticipated 2016 share repurchases to $5 billion . Have a pilot of 20 stores where interline assortments can be shopped inside home depot stores . Home Depot : CEO - "weather had somewhat of a positive impact ...and certainly drove variability in demand , Q1 was not an early spring story" . In certain markets where 'buy online deliver from store' has been introduced, demand has been much stronger than anticipated . Expect 'buy online deliver from store' to be fully rolled out by end of fiscal year . CEO- " our view of macro environment remains consistent. We believe housing data indicates continued tailwinds for our business" . Exec - unseasonably warm February was followed by a more normal march and april, spring has not yet arrived in many of our markets . Exec - drivers behind increase in Q1 big-ticket purchases were appliances, roofing, sheds and windows . Home Depot Inc:One World Technologies Inc is recalling about 670 Ryobi snow blowers because they can overheat and cause a fire, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Tuesday. - RTRS.The recall by the Anderson, South Carolina importer of the machines came after two reports of the snow blowers overheating.One consumer saw flames in the machine, though no injuries or property damage has been reported, the commission said in a statement.One World is recalling about 300 Ryobi 40-Volt Brushless Snow Blowers in the United States and roughly 370 in Canada, the statement said.The machines were sold online by Home DepotHD.N from November through February for about $280 for the unit alone and for $350 as part of a kit that included a battery and charger.The snow blowers were made by China's Techtronic Industries (Dongguan) Co Ltd 0669.HK, the statement said.The commission website carries recall information supplied to the agency by companies carrying out recalls.  Full Article
