Holmen AB:Says has signed an agreement to sell its newsprint mill in Madrid, Spain, including energy and recycled paper operations.The buyer, International Paper, will convert the mill into containerboard production.Says its Q1 operating profit will be negatively impacted by 300 million Swedish crowns, which will be reported as item affecting comparability.Says Cash Flow, excluding working capital, will be positively impacted by 500 million crowns upon closing of transaction which is expected in Q2.Says financial effects of selling newsprint from Madrid mill during period until conversion is expected to be limited.Says ‍after sale of Madrid mill, printing paper operations have potential to deliver good profitability.  Full Article

Fire at Holmen 's Hallsta Paper Mill

Holmen AB:Says Fire broke out on Nov. 20 evening at Hallsta Paper Mill in Hallstavik, outside Norrtälje, Sweden.Says No-one was injured, but production has been stopped.Fire took place in the pulp factory in the north of the factory site.Two paper machines at the mill were not affected or damaged by the fire.Assessment is that it will be possible to start up the pulp factory again, in any case partially, within two to three weeks.Incident is expected to have a negative impact on results for Q4 amounting to 30 million Swedish crowns.  Full Article
