Hewlett-Packard Co Declares Dividend

Hewlett-Packard Co announced that Board Of Directors has declared a regular cash dividend of 14.52 cents per share on the Company's common stock, which, as previously announced, reflects a 10% increase in amount compared to the previous quarterly dividend amount. The dividend, the third in HP's fiscal year 2013, is payable on July 3, 2013, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on June 12, 2013.  Full Article

Marathon Patent Group Inc's Relay IP Files Patent Infringement Lawsuits Against Hewlett-Packard Co and Others

Marathon Patent Group Inc's Relay IP (Relay) has filed patent infringement lawsuits in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware against Sprint Nextel Corporation, Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems, Bloomberg L.P., Hitachi Cable America, D-Link Corporation, Avaya, Hewlett-Packard Company, Enterasys Networks, Extreme Networks, TIBCO Software, BT Group, SAVVIS Inc., Zhone Technologies, Huawei Technologies, Allied Telesis, and Adtran (the Defendants). Relay is asserting infringement related to U.S. Patent number 5,331 ,637, entitled Multicast Routing Using Core Based Trees. The lawsuit alleges that the Defendants have infringed, and continue to infringe, the claims of the patent in suit by using the accused IP Multicast systems and methods covered by the claims of the Relay patent.  Full Article

Hewlett-Packard Co's HP Enterprise Services announced a new global agreement with SAP AG through which it will deliver managed mobility services to help clients convert customer interactions into revenue opportunities and improve employee productivity with mobile applications. HP Managed Mobility Services for the SAP Mobile Platform help clients quickly visualize, plan, build, operate and secure mobile applications. This can change the way they interact with customers, employees and partners on any device. Hewlett-Packard Co Chairman Lane Resigns, Ralph Whitworth Takes Over For Now As Interim Chairman-Reuters

Reuters reported that Hewlett-Packard Co's Chairman Ray Lane, who has come under fire from shareholders for his role in the acquisition of software company Autonomy Plc, has relinquished his post in the Company's latest board shake-up. Director and activist investor Ralph Whitworth will serve as Interim Chairman until Lane's replacement is found. HP is also seeking two to three new board members. Two other directors who kept their seats with narrow margins, G. Kennedy Thompson and John Hammergren, will leave the board, and the Company will look for two to three new, independent replacements.  Full Article

Hewlett-Packard Co Increases Regular Dividend by 10%

Hewlett-Packard Co announced that the HP board of directors has authorized a 10% increase in the amount of its regular quarterly dividend, to $0.1452 per share. The increase in the amount of the dividend will be effective when the HP board of directors declares HP's next dividend, which is expected to occur in May. The Company's previously announced dividend payable on April 3, 2013, for stockholders of record on March 13, 2013, will not be increased and will remain at $0.132 per share.  Full Article

Hewlett-Packard Co's HP Enterprise Services Secures Two U.S. Army Contracts

Hewlett-Packard Co announced that HP Enterprise Services has been awarded two task orders by the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (AHRC) to support and enhance the technology infrastructure and applications used throughout the recruiting process. The contracts, sold under the U.S. Army Information Technology Enterprise Solutions -- 2 Services agreement, include 30% small-business participation. The first contract, a three-year order for HP to continue managing the AHRC technology infrastructure, adds the same support for the U.S. Army Cadet Command and Army Recruiting Command. The second contract is a one-year task order to modernize and maintain applications that enable the U.S. Army to easily find and screen prospective recruits with HP Applications Services. HP also will develop a new capability for recruits to complete applications and required federal forms online. These applications run on the AHRC technology infrastructure, and help manage recruitment and hiring workflow.  Full Article

European Commission Selects Hewlett-Packard Co To Provide Mission-Critical Servers

Hewlett-Packard Co's Hewlett-Packard Belgium B.V.B.A./SPRL announced that, through the open Call for Tenders -- DIGIT/R2/PO/2011/038 -- Mainframe data servers III, it has been selected by the European Commission (EC) to supply HP Integrity servers and related offerings to support critical workloads, including database-intensive applications and other critical environments, across multiple EC countries. Under the terms of the framework agreement (DI/07120), participating European Union (EU) institutions, agencies and bodies will now be able to acquire new HP Integrity servers based on the Intel Itanium processor running HP-UX 11i v3. In addition to mission-critical HP Integrity servers, HP will provide associated equipment, including software. HP Technology Services also will deliver services and support, including maintenance and professional services. HP Integrity servers are now available for deployment at EC and European Parliament sites in Brussels and Luxembourg as well as Joint Research Centre sites in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. Other institutions located in various EU member states also will be able to take advantage of these new mission-critical systems.  Full Article

Hewlett-Packard Co Secures Contract From Vermont Health Access

Hewlett-Packard Co's HP Enterprise Services announced that HP Enterprise Services the Department of Vermont Health Access has signed a $48 million contract to continue 31-year relationship with HP as the state's Medicaid fiscal agent. The new four-year agreement includes services that assist the state in reaching health care reform goals. The agreement covers the relocation of Vermont's current Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) to aHP data center. HP also will upgrade provider call-center technology, which will improve customer service by reducing hold times and dropped calls, as well as enhance the efficiency of call routing and increase business-continuity capabilities. Under the agreement, HP continues to provide Vermont with claims processing, financial management, drug rebate processing, system maintenance and modification, and provider services, including enrollment, education and call center support for all 26 health care programs.  Full Article

Hewlett-Packard Co Sells webOS Operating System To LG Electronics Inc-Reuters

Reuters reported that Hewlett-Packard Co said it will sell the webOS operating system to LG Electronics Inc. Under the terms of their agreement, LG acquires the operating software's source code, associated documentation, engineering talent, various associated websites, and licenses under HP's intellectual property including patents covering fundamental operating system and user interface technology. Persistent Systems Announces Licensing Agreement With Hewlett-Packard Co For HP Client Automation Software

Persistent Systems announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with Hewlett-Packard Co to license its HP Client Automation (HPCA) software. This technology acquisition underscores Persistent Systems' commitment to expand its IP portfolio and further strengthen in PC Lifecycle Management (PCLCM), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Mobile Device Management (MDM). Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Persistent Systems will be responsible for the product roadmap and intends to invest in product development, extending all existing aspects of the product including Mac support and Mobile Device Management (MDM) functionality. HP will resell the Persistent Systems' solution which will be a Persistent Systems branded solution.  Full Article
