State of Delaware Awards Hewlett Packard Co $50 Million Medicaid Contract Renewal

Hewlett Packard Co's HP Enterprise Services announced that the Delaware Division of Medicaid & Medical Assistance (DMMA) has signed a $50 million agreement for HP to continue providing Medicaid fiscal-agent services for three years. Under terms of the contract, HP will continue managing the state's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), which was certified by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2003 as the first state Medicaid system to comply with the landmark Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HP also will continue providing a wide range of Medicaid services, including pharmacy and medical claims processing, eligibility verification, call-center support and administration of the state's drug rebate program.
