Isconova AB Announces Results of Pre-Clinical Study with Matrix-M-Direkt
Direkt reported that Isconova AB's adjuvant Matrix-M has demonstrated that the immune-stimulating properties significantly enhance the effects of an influenza vaccine, according to a preclinical study. The results were published in the scientific journal Vaccine on February 4, 2013. The study is part of Isconova flu program launched in 2010. Isconova AB Confirms Discussions on Collaboration with Fraunhofer USA Center for Molecular Biotechnology Regarding Anthrax Vaccine Underway

Isconova AB to Conduct Rights Issue
Isconova AB announced that the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company has approved the Board's decision of August 26, 2012 on the issue of shares with preferential rights for existing shareholders. Each existing share entitles the holder to subscribe for two new shares for a subscription price of SEK 6 per share. Through the rights issue, the share capital may be increased by no more than SEK 8,316,904 through the issue of up to 8,316,904 shares. By subscription commitments and guarantees the rights issue is fully underwritten. To enable the rights issue to be above the Extraordinary General Meeting has decided to amend the Company's Articles of Association. The limits of the share capital change from a minimum of SEK 2,000,000 and a maximum of SEK 8,000,000 to at least SEK 10,000,000 and a maximum of SEK 40,000,000. Furthermore, the limits for the number of shares has been changed from a minimum of 2,000,000 shares and a maximum of 8,000,000 shares to a minimum of 10,000,000 shares and a maximum of 40,000,000 shares. Isconova AB's Partner Genocea Biosciences Receives Approval from FDA to Initiate Phase I/IIa Study of Vaccine Candidate to Treat HSV-2
Isconova AB announced that Isconova AB's United States-based partner Genocea Biosciences has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to initiate a Phase I/IIa study. The study relates to a therapeutic vaccine candidate (GEN 003) to treat Herpes Simplex Virus-2 (HSV-2). The vaccine candidate includes two protein antigens combined with Isconova's adjuvant Matrix-M. The Company's cooperation with Genocea Biosciences covers the use of Isconova's Matrix-M in the development of vaccines against eight infectious diseases including Herpes Simplex Virus-2, Chlamydia, Pneumonia, malaria and gonorrhea. The double-blind, placebo-controlled and dose-escalating study, will include approximately 150 volunteer patients with moderate to severe HSV-2 infection. The study aims to evaluate the safety and tolerability, the vaccine's ability to stimulate the immune system, and determine the effect of the vaccine upon viral shedding, which is considered a marker of disease recurrence and transmission. Isconova AB Concludes Partnership Agreement with Virbac Regarding Matrix-M
Isconova AB announced that it has concluded a partnership agreement with Virbac, a pharmaceutical company in veterinary medicine. In a first step, Isconova AB's adjuvant Matrix-M will be used by Virbac for the development and improvement of vaccines for the global veterinary market. The first products based on Matrix-M are vaccines for dogs against certain infectious diseases. Isconova AB Announces New CEO and Chairman
Isconova AB announced that the Company has appointed Sven Andreasson as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company, effective as of March 1, 2012. He will succeed Russell G. Vaccine Publishes Positive Data from Phase I Trial with PanFluVac Using Isconova AB's Matrix M
Isconova AB announced that the scientific journal, Vaccine has published online the first article presenting data from the human PanFluVac trial. The Phase I clinical study evaluated the safety and the immunogenicity of an avian flu vaccine adjuvanted with the Company's Matrix M.
