ArcelorMittal Says Nine Injured in Ostrava Gas Explosion-DJ

Dow Jones reported that nine ArcelorMittal workers, including four of Indian nationality, were injured in a gas explosion at one of the three coke ovens at the steel maker's Ostrava steel plant in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. The workers were being treated for burns and a fractured limb at a local hospital. The explosion occurred at 10:15 local time and resulted in the shutdown of the coke oven battery No 11. The company was gradually resuming coke production and steel production was not affected by the incident. The Company has not yet identified the cause of the explosion.
