Kumba Iron Ore Ltd Issues FY 2012 Earnings Guidance Below Analysts' Estimates

Kumba Iron Ore Ltd announced that for fiscal 2012, it expects headline earnings and basic earnings between ZAR11,650 million and ZAR12,450 million, with headline earnings per share (HEPS) and earnings per share (EPS) to be between ZAR36.30-ZAR38.80. The decrease in earnings is largely attributable to a decrease in export iron ore prices in the period and the impact on production following the illegal strike at Sishen Mine. According to I/B/E/S Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report EPS of ZAR39.64 for fiscal 2012.
