Kopparberg Mineral AB'S Subsidiary Supplements Appeal Regarding Rejection of Exploration Concession Application for Hakansboda

Thursday, 11 Apr 2013 01:30am EDT

Kopparberg Mineral AB announced that its subsidiary Kopparberg Mining Exploration AB, has supplemented its earlier appeal to the Government concerning Bergsstaten's rejection of the Company's application for a mining concession for Hakansboda. Bergsstaten justified its position by saying that the requested concession area lies within the buffer zone surrounding the Lovisagruvan AB's exploitation concession. The Company claims in the supplement to the government that the protection zone granted to Lovisagruvan when the previous miming concession was converted to an exploitation concession in autumn 2012 is not an obstacle to the granting of the concession applied for Hakansboda. Kopparberg Mineral has exploration permits covering the area in question and the rules on protection zone are intended only to prevent new exploration permit sought close to existing mining concessions. The Company also emphasizes in its supplement that the Lovisa and Hakansboda have completely different character and that they are linked to different stratigraphic horizons. According to the Company's opinion, there is nothing to indicate that a processing of Hakansboda would disrupt the current and future operations of the Lovisagruvan. Hakansboda location therefore, according to the Company's opinion, does not prevent granting of the requested mining concession.
