S&P puts Maersk's BBB+ ratings on review for downgrade

Standard & Poor's: A.P. Moller–Maersk recently announced its undertaking of a strategic and structural review of its business set-up [nL8N19F2R4] . S&P says that the disposal of one or several of Maersk's main business units could form part of the review's outcome, and we think that such a split would hurt the group's business diversification . S&P therefore placing its BBB+ ratings on Maersk on CreditWatch negative . S&P says any change to the Maersk group's structure could lead to a deterioration of overall credit quality . S&P says it aim to resolve the CreditWatch within the next three months. Says has reached an agreement with joint venture partner Aarhus Service Holding for the purchase of the remaining 40 percent of the terminal in Aarhus, Denmark . BRIEF-Statoil awards Sverdrup contract of NOK 600 mln to Rosenberg WorleyParsons AS

Statoil Asa : Statoil has, on behalf of the Johan Sverdrup licence, awarded Rosenberg WorleyParsons AS a contract for fabrication of three bridges and two flare towers . Contract value is close to nok 600 million . Fabrication and assembly will mainly be carried out in Stavanger, but also with contribution from other Norwegian and international sub-suppliers . A bridge between the riser platform and the drilling platform and one flare tower (riser platform) will be delivered in 2018, and the remaining two bridges and one flare tower (processing platform) will be delivered in 2019 . The combined weight of all three bridges is 4,700 tonnes, and if put together the overall length of all three bridges totals 260 metres .The Sverdrup project has so far awarded contracts totaling close to NOK 60 billion, with a Norwegian share of more than 70 pct.  Full Article

Maersk Drilling to buy jack-up rig from Hercules Offshore

Maersk Drilling, a unit in A.P. Moller-Maersk : Says has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the newbuild harsh environment jack-up rig, from a subsidiary of Hercules Offshore and with immediate delivery from Jurong Shipyard in Singapore . Says according to the agreement, Maersk Drilling assumes the right to take delivery of the rig and Maersk Drilling settles the final payment of approx. $190 million with Jurong . Says after delivery, the rig will be mobilised to the North Sea to commence a five-year drilling contract with Maersk Oil and its partners, BP and JX Nippon, on the Culzean gas field offshore UK. . AP Moller-Maersk's subsidiary APM Terminals:Says will invest 758 million euros in a new transhipment terminal in Tangier, Morocco, that will be the first automated terminal in Africa.New container terminal will have an annual capacity of five million 20-foot equivalent units (TEU), and APM Terminals has the right to operate the port for 30 years.APM Terminals, A.P. AP Moller-Maersk's subsidiary APM Terminals:Says has completed the $1 billion acquisition of Spanish Grup Maritim TCB's port and rail interests-Reuters.Has yet to receive approval for three of 11 terminals under Grup Maritim TCB, but has decided to move ahead with the acquisition, as the remaining terminals constitute less than 5 pct of the value of the acquisition.The acquisition thus adds 8 ports with a combined 2 million TEU equity-weighted volume to APM Terminals​.  Full Article
