Rheinmetall AG, MAN SE JV Receives EUR1.1 Billion Order In Australia-DJ

Dow Jones reported that Rheinmetall AG said its joint venture with MAN SE has received a order to supply military trucks to the Australian Defence Force. The order received by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH, a joint venture of Rheinmetall AG and MAN SE's Truck & Bus unit, is worth EUR1.1 billion ($1.45 billion). Under a far-reaching modernization program, the Australian Defence Force is buying around 2500 protected and non-protected logistical vehicles. Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia will supply medium and heavyweight recovery vehicles, heavy-duty logistical vehicles, integrated load handling systems as well as medium-sized cargo bed variants with cranes, fuel and water modules and tipper bodies. The first vehicles will be delivered in 2016, with the contract due for completion in 2020.
