Mcdermott International Inc Wins Platforms and Infield Flowline Contract in Indones

Mcdermott International Inc announced that its Indonesian subsidiary has been awarded a contract by PC Muriah Ltd., an affiliate of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd., to develop offshore surface facilities and an infield flowline for the Kepodang Field, located approximately 180 kilometers northeast of Semarang, Central Java, in water depths of up to 70 meters. The project will be included in McDermott's fourth quarter 2012 backlog. The award includes the procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of a 5,802-tonne central processing platform; a 1,298-tonne wellhead platform; a 2.7-kilometer-long, 10-inch diameter infield flowline; and installation of remote control facilities at the onshore receiving facilities.  Full Article

Mcdermott International Inc's Subsidiaries Signs Shipyard Contract for Construction of Deepwater S-Lay Vessel

Mcdermott International Inc announced that one of its subsidiaries has signed a contract for the design and construction of a new high-spec, capable dynamically-positioned combination S-Lay vessel with a 2,000-ton crane. The vessel, tentatively named Derrick Lay Vessel 2000 (DLV2000), will be constructed at Keppel Singmarine in Singapore and is expected to take approx 2.5 years to build.  Full Article

McDermott International Inc's Subsidiary Secures Two Projects For Saudi Aramco

McDermott International Inc announced that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded two projects for Saudi Aramco in the Arabian Gulf in the Karan, Safaniya and Zuluf fields. The values of these contracts are included in McDermott's second quarter 2012 backlog. The first project, Karan-45, comprises fabrication of a new wellhead platform, auxiliary platform, jacket and link bridge, with subsea installation of a 20-inch flowline and a 15kV composite power and fiber optic cable. Project management, engineering and procurement will be undertaken at McDermott’s engineering office in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Fabrication will commence shortly at the Company’s Jebel Ali facility in the United Arab Emirates and the offshore scope will be undertaken by vessels from McDermott’s global fleet. The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter 2014. The second project, issued under the existing Long-Term Agreement, includes the procurement of flexible flowlines and the fabrication, transportation and installation of pipelines and subsea tie-ins. Procurement and fabrication will be carried out at the Company’s Jebel Ali facility and installation, using vessels from McDermott’s fleet, is scheduled for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2013.  Full Article

McDermott International Inc's Subsidiary Receives Two Contracts For Tendon Buoyancy Modules And West Africa Platforms

McDermott International, Inc. announced that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a fabrication contract for components of a deepwater platform in the Gulf of Mexico, by Heerema Marine Contractors Nederland BV. McDermott will construct 16 tendon buoyancy modules (“TBMs”) for the deepwater project, which will be used during offshore installation of the platform, approximately 225 miles south of New Orleans in waters up to 5,185 feet deep. McDermott will carry out procurement, fabrication and loadout of the TBM structures from its Morgan City facility in Louisiana. Consisting of an upper and lower module, each TBM is designed to be interchangeable as either an upper or a lower module. Fabrication work is expected to commence during the second quarter of 2012. A McDermott subsidiary has also been awarded a design engineering and procurement management contract, by VAALCO Gabon Inc., for the Etame platform and a design engineering contract for a potential Southeast Etame / North Tchibala (SEENT) platform, both located offshore Gabon, West Africa.  Full Article

McDermott International Inc's Subsidiary Receives Contract For New Ayatsil-B Drilling Platform

McDermott International Inc announced that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a contract for the new Ayatsil-B drilling platform for PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion in the Bay of Campeche Ayatsil field. McDermott will undertake the engineering, procurement, fabrication, pre-commissioning, load-out and sea fastening of the Ayatsil-B eight-leg jacket and deck, weighing approximately 11,650 tonnes for installation in waters 115 meters deep. McDermott will also carry out transportation and installation analysis of the structures, and will conduct training for Pemex personnel for the facility operation and maintenance. At peak, more than 500 personnel will be engaged on the project. Completion is expected during the third quarter of 2013.  Full Article
