Dow Jones reported that Megacable Holdings SAB de CV (Megacable) and Telefonica SA (Telefonica) have agreed to launch a joint mobile service in Mexico under the Megacel name. Megacable will be in charge of marketing, sales and distribution of the new venture, while Telefonica will provide the mobile network. Megacel will operate as a virtual mobile network operator (VMNO) and it will complement Megacable's existing package that includes cable television, Internet and fixed-line telephony.
