Morgan Stanley:launched a formal effort to sell its controlling stake in U.S. oil terminal and transport business TransMontaigne-Reuters.The bank has started circulating preliminary information about the assets it could sell, which include the general partner of master limited partnership (MLP) TransMontaigne Partners LP.In addition to the general partner, Morgan Stanley owns around 19 pct of the TransMontaigne MLP's units.It is unclear what the bank plans to do with this holding.  Full Article

American International Group Inc May File Lawsuit Against Morgan Stanley-Reuters

Reuters reported that American International Group Inc may file a lawsuit against Morgan Stanley related to $3.7 billion worth of mortgage securities that the investment bank sponsored or underwrote from 2005 to 2007, and which AIG purchased. AIG has terminated a tolling agreement with Morgan Stanley, which allowed the companies to try to settle their dispute out of court. U.S. Regulator Sues Morgan Stanley Others Over Faulty Securities-Reuters

Reuters reported that a U.S. regulator filed lawsuits against Morgan Stanley and eight other banks over the sale of nearly $2.4 billion in mortgage-backed securities to two credit unions that later failed, according to a filing. Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley Capital I Inc, Barclays PLC, JPMorgan Chase & Co's unit Bear Stearns, Credit Suisse Group AG, Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC and UBS AG sold faulty securities to Southwest and Members United corporate credit unions, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said in its complaint. Goldman Sachs Group Inc, Wachovia Corp, a unit of Wells Fargo & Co and Residential Funding Securities LLC, (Ally Securities), also sold faulty securities to Southwest, NCUA said.  Full Article

Hyundai Motor Co And Morgan Stanley Fund's Hyundai Rotem Files For IPO-Reuters

Reuters reported that Hyundai Rotem said it plans to raise up to KRW622.4 billion ($575 million) in an Initial Public Offering. Hyundai Rotem, owned by Hyundai Motor Co and a Morgan Stanley fund, said in a filing late Monday that it planned to sell 21 million new shares and six million existing shares at a price of between 17,000 won and 23,000 won each. It plans to announce its final price on October 21, 2013. Approved by South Korea's stock exchange in June 2013, Hyundai Rotem's public offering plan has progressed slowly because of labour disputes during annual wage negotiations.  Full Article
