Nokia Oyj And Siemens AG's JV Nokia Siemens Bags INR200 Crore (INR2 Billion) Network Contracts From Railways-The Economic Times

The Economic Times reported that Nokia Siemens Networks has bagged nearly INR200 crore (INR2 billion) of contracts to supply network gear to the Railways. The Company, a joint venture (JV) between Nokia Oyj and Siemens AG of Germany, has inked five zonal contracts to sell network equipment that will enable mobile communication between trains and railway regulation control centres across 3500 km of the railway network. Nokia Siemens has landed these contracts at a time when the Railways is investing in robust signalling and roaming solutions to ensure safer travel amid surging traffic density.
